Hillary Clinton isn’t the only Democratic leader to struggle with pneumonia this summer.
New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, who will take over for Sen. Harry Reid as the Democratic leader in the Senate next year, revealed that he was also recently diagnosed with pneumonia. “His doctor has pronounced him all cleared up and he’s feeling much better,” Schumer spokesman Matt House told the Associated Press.
Schumer and Clinton both attended the memorial service at the Pentagon on Sunday, commemorating the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Clinton stole the headlines, however, when she collapsed at the service. Her staff initially said she felt “overheated.” After the event, Clinton’s doctor revealed that the Democratic presidential nominee had contracted pneumonia.
Her campaign also has decided to release additional medical records in order to quiet rumors, stoked by Trump’s allies on the campaign trail and in the media, that Clinton has “some other undisclosed condition” that could affect her performance in the White House.
