Ovechkin and Pauly D hang out all weekend

It seems that Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin and Pauly D are becoming fast friends.

On Saturday, Ovechkin got to see the “Jersey Shore” DJ perform at ShamRockfest. Ovechkin excitedly tweeted pictures of Pauly D, with his trademark hair, spinning away at the festival. He also got Pauly D to commit to cheering for the Capitals during Sunday’s game. “He gonna scream let’s go Caps! aaahhaha,” Ovi tweeted.

After the Capitals beat the Chicago Blackhawks during overtime, Pauly D and a group of friends swung by the locker room. Ovechkin came out of the shower area to say hi, while fellow Caps Eric Fehr and John Carlson introduced themselves to the reality TV star. (Carlson made Pauly D’s “Beat Dat Beat Up” the team’s unofficial anthem after wins earlier in the season).

Even though Caps forward Mike Knuble was being questioned by a dozen reporters about scoring the game-winning goal, he just couldn’t pay attention. “Sorry, I wasn’t listening, I was looking at Pauly D,” he said.
