Blocks aways from a South Carolina mass shooting, Hillary Clinton condemned Bernie Sanders for being late to support repealing gun manufacturer immunity while on the debate stage.
“Well I think Secretary Clinton knows what she says is very disingenuous, I have a D-minus voting record from the NRA,” Sanders shot back. “This should not be a political issue, what we should be doing is working together. And by the way as a senator from a rural state that has virtually no gun control I think I am in an excellent place to bring people together to find sensible solutions.”
The Vermont senator explained that while the gun manufacturers bill had some “good provisions,” he came to realize that the bill had too many weak points and he wanted to re-examine it.
Clinton said she understood Sanders switched his position, but the extent of gun violence in America required someone more consistent. She boasted of her record standing up to the NRA.
