Ryan-Murray budget deal would avert federal government shutdown through 2015

Sen. Patty Murray and Rep. Paul Ryan have announced a bipartisan, two-year, approximately $2 trillion budget deal to avert another government shutdown through the end of fiscal 2015.

The House is set to vote this week, with the Senate voting before Christmas.

The plan would restore $63 billion in sequestration cuts and would trim the federal deficit by $22.5 billion.
