Donald Trump fired back at his Republican rival Sen. Rand Paul late Monday, by calling him “truly weird” and saying he’s like a kid whose brain doesn’t work right.
“Truly weird Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky reminds me of a spoiled brat without a properly functioning brain,” Trump tweeted. “He was terrible at DEBATE!”

Trump’s aggressive post came hours after Paul published a lengthy piece warning voters against being fooled into voting for Trump. Paul warned that Trump is a “fake conservative” who has been a Republican, Democrat and independent when it suits him.
“I honestly have no idea what Mr. Trump’s real philosophy is. He was liberal before he was conservative, and has openly professed for decades that his views are those of a Democrat,” he wrote in a column for The Journal by IJR Review.
Paul said he was willing to take up the fight against Trump when no one else would in the Republican Party. Trump’s late tweet was a continuation of his bombastic style that catapulted Trump to the top of the GOP field over the last few weeks, although many believe Trump took a hit during last week’s debate, which devolved into a fight between Trump and Fox News host Megyn Kelly.
Trump started his surge with aggressive comments about the need to stop illegal immigrants, and he was keeping up that theme Monday.
“Again, illegal immigrant is charged with the fatal bludgeoning of a wonderful and loved 64 year old woman,” he wrote. “Get them out and build a WALL!”
