The man Democrats often compare to Adolf Hitler was in the Jewish state on Oct. 13, delivering a rousing speech to the raucous applause of the Israeli Knesset. After brokering a ceasefire deal that saw the last 20 living hostages held by Hamas in Gaza returned home, President Donald Trump welcomed “the historic dawn of the new Middle East.” It wasn’t hyperbole.
Trump praised Israel for winning the war but told those assembled it was time to embrace the peace. The former, of course, could never have happened without the latter. Israel decisively won the war following Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, attacks because Trump allowed it to do so.
