Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) ran one of the most fraudulently “centrist” campaigns in the country in recent years. It got her the victory she wanted, and now both she and Virginians are paying the price for her duplicity.

Just two months into her term as governor, a Washington Post–Schar School poll puts Spanberger’s approval at 47%, with a disapproval rating of 46%. For some context on how bad those numbers are after just two months on the job, Spanberger won her 2025 election 57%-42%. She won 59% of independents, but her independent approval is now just underwater at 45%-46%.
