Hasan Piker dares Democrats to defend him

One of the most in-demand campaign surrogates on the Democratic Socialists of America-aligned Left these days is a communist, pro-terrorism streamer named Hasan Piker. If that description feels uncharitable or hyperbolic, read on.

Numerous candidates have proudly aligned themselves with Piker, with some campaigning alongside him. Piker has come under withering and deserved criticism from Republicans, plus a relatively small handful of Democrats who’ve been courageous enough to condemn this dangerous, toxic, radical figure in their midst.

In response to the incoming negativity, Piker has a message for the Democratic Party and the center-Left coalition writ large: You must defend me.

“Democrats, listen to me, I know we don’t always see eye to eye on a lot of stuff, but you have to literally, at some point — I know you don’t want to do this — defend me,” he insisted last week.

He went on, urging Democrats to back him up, “not because you love what I have to say, not because I’m part of this coalition, even though I am, whether you like it or not, but you are going to inevitably have to say, ‘This is a ridiculous conversation that we’re having’… That requires you to basically take the L a little bit and maybe be a bit more honest about how I’m not this dangerous, toxic radical force.”

If Democrats accede to his demands, what will they be forced to defend? Let’s review.

Piker infamously said that America deserved 9/11, the terrorist attacks in which jihadis murdered nearly 3,000 innocent people in 2001. One of his favorite candidates, Michigan’s extremist Democratic Senate nominee Abdul el Sayed, dismissed this comment as merely “dumb.”

Various lefty media figures have also argued that it was taken “out of context,” that Piker was “joking,” or that Piker was trying to make a different point. Facing intense opprobrium and bans, Piker himself tried to claim that he hadn’t really meant what he said.

Was this quote just a “dumb” misstatement? Is it being taken out of context? Did he not really mean it when it came out of his mouth? Was he “joking”? Watch the clip.

An angry Piker flatly asserts that the United States deserved what it got in that heinous atrocity. He knew it was going to be controversial, then made a big show of saying it anyway.

Quote: “America deserved 9/11, dude. F*** it, I’m saying it… We — we f***ing totally brought it on ourselves dude. Holy s***. We did. We f***ing did.”

What was the precious “context” in which he unleashed this vile tirade? He was attacking former Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a Purple Heart recipient.

This is how Piker talked about Crenshaw’s war wounds: “Didn’t [Crenshaw] go to war and like literally lose his eye because some mujahideen — a brave f***ing soldier — f***ed his eye hole with their d***?”

Notice Piker’s characterization of the terrorist who shot out our soldier’s eye as a “mujahideen” and “brave f***ing soldier.” He’s not referring to Crenshaw — he’s referring to the terrorist who wounded Crenshaw.

The notion that any of this is a “joke” or “out of context” is nonsense. He meant it, passionately and angrily.

He’s also stated pro-terrorist sentiments on quite a few other occasions, discrediting any suggestion that he wasn’t being genuine. Piker has unequivocally said that he supports the butchers of Hamas over Israel (not vague “Palestinians,” but explicitly Hamas), and expressed that he doesn’t care “if” Hamas committed rapes, in addition to their mass murder on Oct. 7, 2023.

He volunteered that his favorite flag in the world is that of Hezbollah, a designated Islamist terrorist organization responsible for the murders of hundreds of Americans.

Does any of this sound like a man who was using out-of-context, insincere “humor” when he shouted his profane diatribe about America deserving the worst terrorist attack in our history? Defend this, he tells his party.

Piker is proud of his lack of pride in America, saying as much while on a pilgrimage to Communist China, and calling the USA a terrorist country.

Having devoted endless energy to amplifying the “Israeli genocide” lie and smear, Piker makes no secret of his profound admiration for a longtime Chinese Communist Party dictator who is responsible for tens of millions of deaths.

“Mao Zedong is one of the great leaders of this world… Mao Zedong gets the same level of credit that the founding fathers do… [but] Mao Zedong, unlike George Washington, did not own slaves,” Piker said.

Chairman Mao is one of history’s greatest monsters. He caused the deaths of tens of millions of human beings, yet Piker praises him to the hilt, demonizing George Washington by comparison.

In response to anti-communist comments from a female Vietnamese victim of that ideology, Piker blew his top. “Yo, f*** this refugee,” he said, urging her to leave America, informing her that America is worse, and telling her to “suck my d***.”

His parting words for this woman, who justifiably loathes his evil totalitarian ideology: “Shut the f*** up, you stupid, f***ing idiotic old lady.”

Defend this, he tells his party.

Piker, unsurprisingly, also seems to be a fan of political violence. He mused about the assassination of Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), ranting that “if you cared about Medicare fraud or Medicaid fraud, you would kill Rick Scott.”

Piker has similar sentiments about landlords: “Kill them. Kill those motherf***ers. Murder those motherf***ers in the street. Let the streets soak in their f***ing red capitalist blood, dude.”

He described how he thinks political debates ought to play out, instructing his fellow “left-wingers” that “you need to be f***ing showing your opponents’ guts on there, you need to be gutting them. You need to be shanking these motherf***ers and letting their f***ing intestines writhe on-stage. Slice them up. Slice ‘em and f***ing dice ’em.”

He recently praised podcaster Candace Owens, reveling in the fact that she’s spread insane conspiracy theories, including about Israel, to deflect from the overwhelming evidence that a radicalized leftist (apparently fueled by Piker-esque hatred) murdered Charlie Kirk last September. “I’m with her,” he gushed.

Defend this, he tells his party.

That many Democrats and affiliated figures are, in fact, defending this disgusting cretin is a disgrace. But that’s their choice to make — after all, he is a prominent and influential member of their coalition, as he’s pointed out.

POST-WOKE AMERICA? THINK AGAIN

If they decide to debase themselves in doing so, they must be forced to do so based on the realities of what he’s said and espoused, about which he’s been revoltingly clear.

They can make excuses for him or embrace him if they’d like. But they cannot be permitted to lie about who he is.
