Liberals let the love flow over Twitter during Cardinal Timothy Dolan’s speech at the end of the Democratic National Convention last night, dropping F-bombs left and right at the senior Catholic cleric.
The cardinal delivered a prayer invoking the rights we have from God, the right to life and religious liberty – all of which have become anathema to many Democrats. This was evidenced by the floor fight over putting God back in the Democratic platform and a video suggesting Americans belong to their government.
Dolan has been at the forefront of the Catholic Church’s struggle with the Obama administration’s HHS Mandate and has been termed as a lackey of the Republican Party by vocal Democrats.
According to The Associated Press, President Obama originally turned down Dolan’s offer to pray at the DNC.
NBC and the other major networks ended their coverage half way through the cardinal’s benediction to the consternation of pro-lifers.
Tweeter Kailli Joy Gray tweeted out: “I just gotta say it: F**k you, Dolan. No seriously. F**k you.”
Another tweeting under the handle ::Chrissy, noting her shared displeasure with the reinsertion of God into the Democratic Party platform wrote: “And pardon my French, but what the F**K was Timothy Dolan doing there?!”
A Patty Pelfrey tweeted: ”Amen sister! RT @KailiJoy: I just gotta say it:F**k you, Dolan. No,seriously. F**k you.
Others denounced Dolan as a “pedophile-nurturing d**kweasel” and accused him of slamming gays and others.
One self-identified ex-Catholic, Joshua Eaton, let his venom flow against the cardinal, tweeting: “I grew up Catholic, converted to Buddhism, and still love Jesus, Mary, and religion in general. But Dolan can f**k off.”
