Seattle gets state of the art pot vending machines, complete with facial recognition technology

Since 24-hour cupcake vending machines weren’t enough for America, now Seattle residents can delight in the benefits of a pot vending machine!

And not just any old vending machines. The brand-new climate-controlled vending machine is titled “ZaZZZ,” decked out in green, and operates by touchscreen and facial-recognition technology to ensure proper IDs are used. You can use said screen not only to order, but to obtain detailed medical information on the products within, which includes buds, vaporizer pens, and hemp energy drinks.

For an added layer of security, the marijuana packets have RFID chips. You can’t pay with a credit card, thanks to federal banking regulations—but you can pay with bitcoin. Three cheers for freedom!

The first ZaZZZ found its home Tuesday at the Seattle Caregivers medical marijuana dispensary. If vendors have their way, they’ll next be popping up in Alaska, California, Colorado, Michigan, and Rhode Island.

Sadly, regulators like to ruin everything, so Washington pot shops will have to put the ZaZZZ behind the counter and man them.
