During the Civil Rights Era of the 1950’s and 1960’s, blacks fought segregation. Now, some black students are self-segregating.
Referring to it as “an ironic development,” the Daily Caller reported Wednesday night that students at the University of Missouri have begun to segregate their protests.
The students felt the need to create a “black-only healing space.” A tweet with pictures referred to the space as a place “for the students to share, decompress, be vulnerable & real.”

The Daily Caller also mentioned that there had been a tweet, now since deleted, criticizing “white media” for failing to “understand the importance of respecting black spaces.”
Local reporter from KOMU-TV confirmed that the segregation took place in the form of six breakout groups, with one set aside for white students.
This is truly taking the concept of a “safe space” to the next level. These students feel so threatened by those with lighter skin, even if they consider them “white allies,” that they have to request them to leave. The drama continues.
