On Bill Maher’s show Sunday, the HBO personality slammed his fellow liberals for believing and praising Ahmed Mohamed, popularly known as”clock boy.”
“I’m not anti this kid, I hope he has a wonderful life and does great things, but liberals, mostly liberals who have glommed onto him, are ninnies,” Maher said.
Maher pointed out that Mohamed did not invent a clock, he “took the guts” out of a manufactured clock he bought at a store and put it in a pencil box–a task that takes less than a minute to accomplish.
“This is like pouring Cheerios into a bowl and saying you invented cereal,” Maher joked.
When Ron Reagan asked if the child deserved to be arrested, the late night host said that he didn’t deserve to be arrested. But, Maher said the school did the right thing in keeping up with its zero tolerance policy for safety because it looked like a bomb.
Reagan continued to defend Mohamed’s clock, but Maher said, “try to take that through airport security.”
Maher then slammed the hosts of Good Morning America and executives at Google who invited him to their science fair and praised him for his invention because, “it wasn’t an invention, he just took the back out of something.”
Mohamed–who simply took the motherboard out of the back of a clock–was honored by presenting his “invention” at the Google science fair, along with a 15-year old who discovered an automated method for finding and characterizing gravitationally lensed quasars and a 16-year old invented an inexpensive test for the Ebola virus.
