Chuck Todd calls out both parties for impeachment talk, says this is ‘an embarrassing moment for everyone in Washington’

Chuck Todd is impassioned about impeachment.

“This is an embarrassing moment for everyone in Washington. The leaders of both parties, they’re driving away people from the polls, driving people away from politics. This is cynical. It’s ugly. It’s disgusting,” Todd said.

While speaking Wednesday in a round table discussion on “Morning Joe,” the MSNBC political analyst derailed both political parties on the topic.

“Boehner’s up there with this ridiculous lawsuit,” Todd said. “Josh Earnest is sitting at the (White House) podium trying to tick off names of, ‘Oh, look at the Republicans who want impeachment.'”

Todd isn’t buying any of it.

“It’s not serious. The lawsuit’s not serious. The impeachment talk’s not serious. This is playground stuff,” he said.

Todd then took issue with both Obama’s administration and Speaker John Boehner.

“I think the White House ought to be embarrassed for how they’re trying to play this. Boehner — the idea he’s saying, ‘We’re not talking impeachment, the lawsuit.’ Please. That’s about placating the impeachment caucus in his own party,” said Todd.

But for the other harm it could do, all the impeachment talk is certainly not keeping money out of politics. The Democratic National Committee reportedly raised $2.1 million using impeachment scares.
