Hillary Clinton was campaigning in Coralville, Iowa on Tuesday and addressed the growing Syrian refugee crisis where hundreds of thousands of people have poured into Europe.
Why many blame crisis on the nearly five-year long Syrian Civil War, the Democratic frontrunner had a different diagnosis.
“It’s an international problem and I think we should have more of an international response,” Clinton said. “But then we have to ask ourselves why is this happening? And why is this happening, because of terrible governance, because of corruption, because of conflict, because of climate change.”
In reality, it’s because of the Obama-Clinton foreign policy that embraced the Arab Spring, the Syrian Civil War, and left a power vacuum during the years of chaos. It’s much easier for Clinton to win a Democratic primary talking about climate change instead of discussing her failings in foreign policy.
