The women of “The View” have repeatedly demonstrated their class or, more accurately, lack thereof. Recently they attacked Carly Fiorina’s appearance when Michelle Collins called Fiorina’s face “demented” and Joy Behar said it looked like a “Halloween mask.”
Fiorina responded by calling on the women to “say that to my face,” should she appear on the show again.
As it turns out, Fiorina is now scheduled to appear on the show on Friday. On “Fox & Friends” Fiorina discussed the upcoming appearance as well as the insults with Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who used to be a host of “The View” herself.
There will undoubtably be some awkwardness between the hosts and the guest on Friday, especially since Whoopi Goldberg has also since attacked Fiorina for how she handled the insults.
NewsBusters reported on Goldberg’s comments from Monday’s show as well as provided a transcript.
Any objective and reasonable observer would say that Collins’ and Behar’s comments were an example of “when somebody’s coming for you.” There was no “paying you a compliment.” Perhaps you could argue that such remarks were an “observation.” But, they were first and foremost examples of a needless attack and women should know better than to refer to each other in such a manner, regardless of political differences, and on television no less.
Goldberg also chided Fiorina while announcing that the presidential candidate would be on Friday’s upcoming show:
UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN A: Numbers.
UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN B: Profile.
GOLDBERG: …profile, so you would be included in the sea of men. There were no, you weren’t worried about, you know, any kind of Republican backlash, nobody was backlashing, we were respectful and gave you your due.
So, not only did the ladies of “The View” call Fiorina out for how she handled their insults, but they also think they are the ones who deserve credit for raising her profile. Friday’s show will certainly be interesting.
