Obama campaign targeting DJs

The Obama 2012 campaign is now targeting an often overlooked voting block of Americans: DJs.

It’s shocking that no other Presidential campaign has ever thought to target DJs before. After all, DJs are just middle class Americans, like steel workers and garbage truck drivers who deserve some love from the President, too.

Let’s take a look at the DJs who are supporting President Obama, AKA #deejaysforObama

DJ Cassidy

DJ Cassidy is the self-described most sought after deejay in the industry today, who boasts an impressive client list of other Obama supporters, including Beyonce, Vogue Editor Anna Wintour and The Black Eyed Peas, as well as Playboy Mogul Hugh Hefner. Here is his remix of the already remixesque Black Eyed Peas’ “Imma Be.” And here’s a video of him and his friends getting their dance on from the video section on his website (Warning: the party gets a little out of control at the 50 second mark.) Recently he flew to Chicago to do a show for President Barack Obama in the President’s hometown, Chicago.

Obama is apparently a big fan of DJ Cassidy. According to Cassidy’s website, “DJ Cassidy was given the high honor of performing at President Barack Obama’s Inaugural Ball. Cassidy also performed at the Democratic National Committee’s ‘Welcome Home To Chicago’ event for The President in July of 2009, and alongside Stevie Wonder at President Obama’s fiftieth birthday party at The White House in August of 2011.”

DJ NICE

D-Nice is best know for this hot track he put out in the nineties. He’s moved on to bigger and better now and currently works as a professional photographer and DJ. He recently deejayed the welcome home event for the US Olympics team, which LeBron James and Kevin Durant attended.

This Chick

I don’t know who this chick is, but she’s in the DJs for Obama video, so she must be important.

It’s really great to see the Obama campaign spending time with average middle class Americans for once, instead of pandering to young people or hanging out with those Hollywood highrollers.

“To everyone out there thinking the election doesn’t affect you, it affects you,” the star of the DJs for Obama video DJ Cassidy says. “I tell young people and old people and everyone in between to use their talent to help in any way possible. If you’re a painter, paint a campaign poster. If you’re a sewer, sew a campaign t-shirt. Use what you have to contribute.”

Yes, finally someone who gets it!

I anxiously await the Obama 2012 campaign
 bringing together #paintersforObama and #sewersforObama.
