Nicolle Wallace: ‘I am so excited that Jeb Bush is running’

“The View” co-host Nicolle Wallace is so excited about Jeb Bush’s likely run for president that she jumped the gun on his announcement.

“I am so excited that Jeb Bush is running,” Wallace, who served as White House communications director under George W. Bush, told “The Insider With Yahoo” in an interview Thursday.

“He really sort of shaped my views of what a conservative is and can be and the sort of problems they can solve and how they can solve them differently,” Wallace explained of the former Florida governor. “I hope he’s successful. I hope he wins the nomination. I hope he wins the White House.”

She added enthusiastically that she’s going to “cheer for him” as he embarks on his presidential campaign.

Though Jeb has made some obvious moves toward a White House run — launching a political action committee and making campaign-like speeches — the younger brother of George W. Bush has yet to make a formal presidential announcement.

Wallace also discussed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton during the interview, wishing the former secretary of State “all the success” in her campaign and expressing her desire for more women to jump into presidential races.

“I’m not going to vote for her, but I wish her all the success,” explained “The View” co-host. “I hope she runs her best campaign, but I don’t think we will have arrived until she’s not the woman running for president, she’s one of the woman running for president.”
