Appeals Court denies Obama his executive amnesty

2015 is proving to be President Obama’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad year when it comes to immigration.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals denied the Obama administration’s request to lift the hold placed on the president’s executive amnesty.

According to The New York Times, two out of the three judges ruled against the president, finding that the 26 states suing the administration did have the standing to bring a lawsuit. The defense team for the administration also failed to show damages if the injunction would remain in place.

Many of the initiatives and work permits were set to take effect this month.

Obama’s executive action would spare from deportation as many as 5 million people who are in the U.S. illegally.

The original hold was placed by Federal Judge Andrew Hanen of Brownsville, TX on Feb. 16, 2015.
