Obama, Bill Ayers both attended White House chef wedding last summer

YOLO, as the president might say.

President Obama attended the wedding of former White House chef Sam Kass and MSNBC host Alex Wagner last August in Pocantico, New York, reportedly alongside former Weather Underground activists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

From Gawker:

We recently heard that Ayers and Dohrn, both former leaders of the Weather Underground, the militant left-wing group best known for bombing empty government buildings in the 1970s, were also present for the Wagner-Kass celebration at the Blue Hill at Stone Barns, a restaurant and event space in Pocantico Hills, New York.

While the fact that Obama was literally partying with former advocates of violent struggle against the U.S. government will no doubt be taken by his critics as further evidence that he hates America, the most interesting thing about the wedding is the shocking proof it offers that — at long last! — Obama truly no longer gives a f–k about keeping up political appearances. It’s unthinkable that the Obama of the 2008 or 2012 campaigns would have been permitted to go anywhere near Ayers or Dohrn, for fear of fueling the unhinged right-wing narrative that he is a radical leftist.

Ayers and Dorn, who are assumedly at the least acquaintances of Kass, ignored requests for comment when their presence at the wedding was found out. Both Kass and Wagner did the same, and the White House declined to comment, as the wedding was private.

An MSNBC spokesman likewise insisted via e-mail that “it was a private event and we are not going to comment any further.”

In protest of the Vietnam War, Ayers and Dorn helped bomb several government buildings and were pursued by federal authorities. Eventually, the charges were dropped against them due to FBI misconduct.

Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin spotlighted Obama’s potential ties to Ayers when she accused him of “palling around with terrorists who would target their own countries” during the 2008 presidential race.

Ayers held an Obama campaign event at his home in 1995 at when the president was running for the state Senate in Illinois, and the two also crossed paths when they served on multiple charity and education boards together.

Did they serve shrimp at that wedding? Because something smells fishy.
