Liberals call Harambe memes ‘racist’… so here are 9 of the best

Liberal social justice warriors are upset again. This time, it’s over Harambe memes — because they’re racist and show how Americans are using an African name to mock black people by talking about a gorilla. Apparently.

Charles Pulliam-Moore wrote in Fusion on Wednesday that tweets about the deceased gorilla from the Cincinnati Zoo are being used to attack black people.

“In a perfect world, Harambe’s death would have led to a rigorous debate about zoo safety precautions, much in the same way that Cecil the Lion’s death sparked international outrage about big game hunting. Instead, we got memes. Lots of memes,” Pulliam-Moore wrote. “On the surface, this all seems innocuous enough. But there’s another side to Harambe’s popularity—one inexorably tied to racist ideas about black people, Africa, and gorillas—that plays a large, troubling role in the memes’ collective staying power.”

The writer is bitter that the narrative of the gorilla’s death changed from an awareness campaign used by many #BlackLivesMatter activists into jokes like “dicks out for Harambe” and “Harambe did 9/11.”

Kumail Nanjiani, who is apparently a famous comedian (that most people could not pick out in a line up), tweeted that people loved using Harambe memes because it was a way to fun of an African name without feeling guilty.

This is total nonsense. Liberals are mad that given the choice to “stay woke” or raising the gorilla’s profile with humor, they’ve chosen the latter.

Cecil is not a particularly African name, yet people made thousands of memes about the famous lion who shot by an American dentist.

Pet memes are some of the most popular on the internet. From lovable dogs to evil cats, they have nothing to do with politics, racism, sexism, social justice, Donald Trump, or income inequality. They’re part of the great equalizing force that all human beings share called humor.

The fact is that social justice warriors cannot keep the entire population of millennials in a state of anxiety-driven nausea over racism, sexism, ableism, or inequality. They’re failing.

Personally, I think Harambe memes are getting old, but because they piss off social justice warriors so much — I’m willing to share nine of my favorites:

Are these illegal yet?
