Jimmy Fallon took a second to wish former President Bill Clinton a happy 68th birthday during his episode of “The Tonight Show” Tuesday. The comedian honored Clinton appropriately by poking fun at him.
“I have to say ‘Happy Birthday’ to former President Bill Clinton,” explained Fallon at the beginning of his monologue. “That’s right, he turned 68 years old [Tuesday]. Happy Birthday, Bill Clinton. Sixty-eight, or, as he calls it, ‘one away from the fun one.'”
The comedian also jabbed a bit at another member of the Clinton clan — Hillary — for making it all too obvious that she is planning to run for president in 2016.
“Hillary Clinton is returning to Iowa next month for the first time since her failed presidential run in 2008,” said Fallon. “Hillary denies just being there for politics. She was like, ‘I love Iowa for their … okay, I’m running for president.'”
Unfortunately, the comedian didn’t take the opportunity to make fun of Hillary or her outrageous speech contract that has been the subject of recent scrutiny. Perhaps he didn’t find it all that funny.
Fallon appeared to be on a roll poking fun at Democratic politicians, turning his attention next to President Obama and his reaction to the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri.
“The big story continues to be this situation in Ferguson, and it just came out that Missouri Governor Jay Nixon apparently sent the National Guard to Ferguson without letting the White House know first,” Fallon detailed. “When he heard that he was left out of such an important decision, Obama said, ‘Holy crap, I’ve been Bidened.'”
On Monday, an Obama administration official said that the president “didn’t know” that Nixon ordered the National Guard to help deal with the situation in his home state.
The “Tonight Show” host’s monologue also included a few funny tidbits about Toronto Mayor Rob Ford and new Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.
