Majority Whip Launches Obamacare Caption Contest

Today, the Majority Whip will encourage citizens to voice their thoughts on Obamacare via Twitter and Facebook by completing the phrase “It only took 15 minutes to pass Obamacare, BUT…”

Some examples include @GOPLeader: “It only took 15 minutes to pass ObamaCare, but 13,000 pages of regulations so far to implement it” and @GOPWhip: “It only took 15 minutes to pass ObamaCare, but $2100 more in premiums to be insured under it.”

Those that use Twitter should include #ObamaCareCaptionContest at the end of their tweet, and those on Facebook should post their comment at https://www.facebook.com/CongressmanKevinMcCarthy. Submissions will be collected until Sunday at 11:59pm, and the Whip’s office will post graphics with the most creative submissions next week.

According to an email from Digital Director Justin LoFranco at the Whip’s office, today, “House Republicans will begin tweeting out graphics describing the negative impacts ObamaCare is having on small businesses’ ability to hire and grow, the patient-doctor relationship, cost of health care premiums and rapid expansion of the size of the federal government.” The Obamacare caption contest gives citizens the opportunity to join in with House Republicans.

Also today, the House will be voting to repeal Obamacare, and the outcome will undoubtedly fuel the creativity behind the tweets for the Whip’s contest.
