Even the sometimes-spacey House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) can tell that former Congressman Anthony Weiner screwed up, instructing him to “get a clue.”
During her press conference on Thursday, the California Democrat didn’t mince words when it came to the candidate for New York City mayor, also lumping in San Diego Mayor Bob Filner, who has been accused of sexual harassment.
“Let me be very clear: The conduct of some of these people that we’re talking about here is reprehensible,” she said. “It is so disrespectful of women. And what’s really stunning about it is they don’t even realize it. They don’t have a clue.”
“If they’re clueless, get a clue,” she added.
Pelosi noted that both men had admitted they needed therapy and suggested they should do so “in private.” She said Weiner’s status in the NYC mayoral race is “up to the people of New York.”
