[WATCH] MSNBC’s Chuck Todd: Clintons haven’t earned wealth through ‘hard work’

Television hosts are continuing to criticize Hillary and Bill Clinton for their recent comments about their lack of wealth upon leaving the White House in 2001.

“Let’s remember how they acquired their wealth,” said MSNBC’s Chuck Todd on “The Daily Rundown” Friday morning. “They didn’t do it in some incredible business creating jobs and all this. They just acquired wealth for being the Clintons.”

Bill Clinton said recently that he and his wife were “several million dollars in debt” in 2001, backing up Hillary’s earlier claims that the two were “dead broke” and aren’t “truly well off” like other rich people.

“Why is he earning $100 million dollars?” Todd continued. “Because people want to hear Bill Clinton speak. Look, he worked very hard in public service to build a track record to make him attractive to donors, but this is not like shoveling coal, this is not like building a factory, and so there is that aspect too. It’s not like they’ve acquired their wealth from hard work.”

The couple has reportedly grossed over $100 million since Bill departed from the Oval Office.

CNN anchors Miguel Marquez and Alison Kosik mocked Hillary earlier this week for her outrageous claims, laughing and demonstrating obvious skepticism of her comments.

Ironically, Chuck Todd came to Bill Clinton’s defense a few days ago when the former president tried to justify his wife’s claims. Apparently, the MSNBC host has had a logical change of heart.
