What do you do if you’re a comedy network that’s actually trying to push the envelope? You cancel the one show that doesn’t agree with your politics.
That’s what the cable channel Adult Swim did after it cancelled the show Million Dollar Extreme Presents: World Peace because of creator Sam Hyde’s alt-right leanings.
Hyde, who founded the comedy group Million Dollar Extreme, has been dogged by the network since the show’s series premiere in August.
However, the breaking point came for executives when former Eagleheart star Brett Gelman cited MDE as the reason for his departure from the network.

The 31-year-old comedian’s Twitter account has been a headache for the network, which during daylight hours brands itself to children as Cartoon Network.
He called insufferable liberal feminist Lena Dunham a “fat pig.”

And, he called someone in front of him a “hipster faggot.”
Whether you think Hyde is funny or not, Adult Swim has a plethora of racy humor that is easily objectionable to the millions of parents who allow their children and teenagers to watch their shows.
Comedy as a craft is dying when political correctness interferes. The reason comedy exists is to push boundaries that others are afraid to bring up. It is more than just about making someone laugh. It’s about testing the limits of humans to see what they find humorous. When left wing comedians bring up politics and share an edgy take, no one takes them seriously. But as soon as a conservative or someone from the alt-right pokes fun at the things that offends Leftists, they’re branded as “deplorable.”
The PC police simply can’t deal with a different brand of humor. And that’s sad for the world of comedy.
