Trump University has risen to more than just the typical campaign sparring, and is now a gaining serious scrutiny.
Concerns surrounding the failed university have been a big part of the news, following Senator Marco Rubio bringing it up at Thursday’s CNN debate. Victims of the Trump University scam have shared their stories, claiming they were defrauded by illegally operated failed business endeavor.
Marco Rubio, who really got into it with Donald Trump during Thursday’s debate, has also spoken out further. According to Fox News, while campaigning in Georgia on Saturday, Rubio said that people affiliated with the school have called his campaign “nonstop.”
Rubio also vowed that “you’ll be hearing from some of them” soon, meaning the dissatisfied students. And, he referenced three lawsuits from students who were looking for success in the real estate market, but instead were scammed by deceptive practices.
Trump not surprisingly defended himself, while campaigning in Arkansas. He spoke of positive statements students from Trump University sent in, who did “a report card.” And, “some even did film clips saying great things,” according to Trump.
Even less surprising, is how Trump also attacked Rubio, saying “I will address little Rubio” and referring to his “fresh mouth, very nasty.” He also called Rubio “worse” than Ted Cruz, who he has referred to as “a liar” before.
The insults naturally continued over Twitter.
Just watched lightweight Marco Rubio lying to a small crowd about my past record. He is not as smart as Cruz, and may be an even bigger liar

Trump isn’t just attacking Rubio for raising the issue. When it comes to the case filed by the New York Attorney General, he’s also blamed the judge presiding in the case, U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel in San Diego, who was nominated by President Obama in 2012. On Fox News Sunday, he mentioned to host Chris Wallace, “I think it has to do with perhaps the fact that I’m very, very strong on the border. Now he is Hispanic, I believe. He is a very hostile judge to me.”
