Apparently the craze over Korean pop star PSY’s catchy tune “Gangnam Style” is far from over, and now it’s the United States Naval Academy turn to jump on the “Gangnam” parody train.
The U.S. Naval Academy’s 22nd company recently produced a video of themselves lip-syncing and dancing to the tune, in their uniforms. They are shown doing the trademark “Gangnam” dance at various spots on the Naval Academy campus, including on a boat, in an elevator, and even in a men’s restroom.
The song was released on July 15, 2012 by South Korean rapper PSY and has since gone viral. Americans went wild over the “Gangnam Style” spoof on SNL and the mash up of the K-pop hit with Carly Rae Jepsen’s infamous “Call Me Maybe.” PSY even performed the hit on NBC’s “Today Show.”
The question is, who is next to release their version of “Gangnam Style”? The Army? The Marines? Perhaps President Barack Obama will perform his own rendition at the White House to boost campaign donations. Obviously, the sky is the limit for this musical sensation.
