Biden accidentally makes naughty nurse remark

Vice President Joe Biden cozied up to the nation’s nurses Monday, saying that while the doctors keep a person alive, it’s the nurses who “make you want to live.”

Biden, who was speaking at the White House’s Conference on Mental Health, recalled his own experiences with brain surgery after having two craniotomies — one for an embolism and another for an aneurysm.

The vice president expressed gratitude toward the doctors who allow patients to live, but was especially grateful for the nurses who give them the will to carry on.

“If there’s any angels in heaven, by the way, they’re all nurses,” Biden said. “…Doctors allow you to live, the nurses make you want to live.”

But as the audience erupted in laughter, Biden attempted to redeem himself.

“No, no,” he said. “Male nurses and female nurses.”

The vice president also had a minor suggestion for Georgetown University.

“More Bidens have gone to Georgetown than anybody wants to acknowledge,” he said. “I told them you should at least name a sidewalk after me or something.”

Biden’s son Hunter attended the school.
