Radical feminism and the rise of the “MGTOW” movement

As demands pile up for men from women to tolerate more and more of an ever-increasing culture of royally-whipped pseudo-masculinity, many men have wandered astray from the conventional path of marriage. The lashes that third-wave feminism have inflicted upon America’s traditionalist wing bloodied the motivation of men to settle down and procreate relentlessly, to a point that an increasing percentage of men have joined the ranks of “Men that Go Their Own Way,” or MGTOW, as a response to the shrieking orders of millennial feminists.

The sudden change of course for these “MGTOWs” is justified on their official website, mgtow.com, which concedes that the MGTOW movement is merely “a statement of self-ownership” for these men to “protect [their] own sovereignty above all else.” The website goes on to mention the growing popular culture that shames men as a whole, citing a TIME Magazine article which concluded that a “scientific study” had proven that “men are idiots because men are more likely to take on idiotic risks.” The universally accepted notion of man-shaming in our social climate unintentionally spawned a counter-culture vacuum that needed to be filled. Hence, the MGTOWs were born.

Feminists grasp for so much social territory that feminism no longer means “equality of the sexes,” but the complete and compliant submission of men to kneel to the all-powerful post-modern woman. Movements and/or people that anti-feminists ardently utilized as proof that the feminist movement has gone awry include:

– “SJWs”: An acronym for Social Justice Warrior. The SJW has spilled over into left-leaning movements as far as ANTIFA, but a robust argument can be made the SJW was bred under the close watch of feminism. SJWs use accusations of blatant racism, sexism, and/or transphobia, among infinitely many other “-isms,” to assassinate the character of any dissenting viewpoint that comes their way. The wage gap debate spearheaded this finding, as this group refused to recognize that the “patriarchy” they constantly rail on might not actually pay women less.

– The Pro-Choice Movement: Acting as a counterbalance to the growing majority of pro-life advocates in the United States, feminists deployed their “women’s rights” crusade against pro-life ideas starting with the modest argument of “my body, my choice.” This talking point quickly careened into the wall of extremism, as Planned Parenthood foot soldiers ratcheted up their talk, defending abortion in a manner that can easily be construed as enthusiastic toward the termination of a life.

– “White Knights”: White Knights, arguably the smallest of feminist wings (thank God), are men who identify as feminists, riding in to save the day for the feminist in distress so he can sweep her off her feet and gallop on horseback into the sunset, all the while throwing her a bone conceding that the wage gap is real. White Knights are particularly troublesome, because they often, in reality, disagree with the woman in distress they claim to protect, sacrificing their own values on the altar of “social justice.”

The MGTOW movement has ample evidence to point to justifying its divorce of traditional values. However, this movement is not without backlash. Feminists often bark back accusing the movement of being “anti-woman.” Nonetheless, the “Men that Go Their Own Way” phenomenon is a step in the right direction to dethrone the despotic queen known as third-wave feminism.
