President Obama will be taking time out of his busy fundraising schedule next week to embark on a two-day bus tour through Ohio and Pennsylvania.
According to the Huffington Post, the schedule is expected to include a number of campaign rallies and related events at which President Obama will focus on “speaking directly to a wide swath of voters.”
The Obama campaign has not released any details regarding the locations of the stop or how much it will cost the towns to host the events the President expects to appear at.
The bus tour will likely include a number of random stops at local restaurants, allowing limited numbers of voters access to the President.
News of the bus tour comes the day after Obama finished a two-day fundraising blitz in Georgia, Florida, Massachusetts and New Hampshire, where the President attended seven different fundraisers.
Ticket prices for a private reception yesterday in Miami started at $40,000 a plate, and netted a cool $1.2 million for the Obama re-election team. The President also invoked a B-List music star to boost his campaign at the event with a private performance from singer Marc Anthony for his donors.
Overall, the two day fundraising spree gave the Obama campaign over $5 million in funding to boost their re-election efforts.
Yesterday President Obama sent an email to supporters lamenting that he will be outspent 10-1 by GOP nominee Mitt Romney in the election because unlike Romney, he doesn’t have time fundraise, “I’ve got other responsibilities I’m attending to,” the President claimed.
Like a bus tour, apparently.
