Conservative author Ann Coulter introduced Republican frontrunner Donald Trump at a rally in Dubuque, Iowa Tuesday and compared the billionaire’s presidential campaign to the Bible.
Coulter said that conservatives had to have an experience like Joseph for Trump to ascend in the polls.
“I have not had this much hope for America since Nov. 7, 2012. No particular reason, I was just rather depressed that day,” Coulter joked. “Now I think it’s like Joseph in the Bible. He had to be sold into slavery, imprisoned, betrayed, so that eventually he could save the Jews. Maybe Mitt Romney had to lose, and maybe we had to give Republicans one more chance in 2014, and maybe Mitch McConnell and John Boehner had to betray us once again to pave the way for President Donald Trump.”
She left the podium on a hopeful note.
“God hasn’t given up on America yet,” Coulter said.
