[WATCH] ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic spoofs Pharrell with new parody song ‘Tacky’

It appears “Weird Al” Yankovic is back to spoofing some of the hottest songs after a bit of a hiatus.

The master of parody recently released his video for “Tacky,” a play on the ever popular “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. Weird Al’s music video features celebrity cameos from Jack Black, Aisha Tyler, Margaret Cho, Eric Stonestreet and Kristen Schaal.

Weird Al and his pals dance around in brightly-colored, distinctive outfits, much like Pharrell does in his own video.

The tune itself tells the story of a rather “tacky” individual who posts photos of “every meal” on Instagram, wears socks with sandals and sequined Crocs, drives a car with “43 bumpers stickers and a YOLO license plate,” live-tweets funerals and even twerks while waiting in the DMV line. It’s cultural commentary at its finest.

“Tacky” is the first track off of Weird Al’s album “Mandatory Fun,” which hits shelves Tuesday and already ranks at the impressive No. 1 spot on Amazon’s best sellers list for music.
