Paul Ryan under consideration for GOP VP slot

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan is being thoroughly vetted by the Romney campaign as a possible VP pick, according to National Review Online.

Ryan has campaigned with presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney through Wisconsin over the past few weeks and has repeatedly told the press he isn’t interested in the number two slot on the Republican ticket.

The budget chairman’s name has frequently been tossed around as a possibility alongside that of Sen. Marco Rubio, who has been a favorite of GOP insiders – coming up first in the CPAC Chicago straw poll earlier this month.

Ryan now is the second potential VP pick who has been confirmed to be under serious consideration by the Romney campaign.
