Feeling left out, Ben Carson piped up during a heated moment in last night’s GOP debate to ask someone, anyone, to let him in on the conversation.
“Can somebody attack me, please?”
Soft-spoken Carson had apparently had enough of his opponents getting all the attention and invited any attack at himself, knowing that in debates, when someone is attacked they will get to respond.
Earlier in the debate, the seemingly forgotten candidate told CNN moderator Wolf Blitzer “I’m gonna whine” when remarking on the little speaking time he had received.
The presidential hopeful and neurosurgeon’s request for some attention wasn’t completely unmerited — at the conclusion of the debate, NPR reported Carson’s speaking time at 10:15 with Trump getting nearly three times as much.
Only time will tell if Carson can stick it out until the next debate and find his voice, or if he will just resort to whining and raising his hand to be allowed to talk.
