Gotta catch ’em all: Senator Cory Booker looks to take selfies with all of his fellow senators

School is out for the summer, the Senate is nearing its own recess and it seems that for Sen. Cory Booker (D-NY) is having a little trouble remembering which entity he is affiliated with. Like a senior just out of class, Booker has been roaming the halls looking for selfies.

His goal is to take a selfie with every member of the Senate before the end of the summer recess. Booker calls it his “99-part Instagram series: Selfies With My Fellow Senators.”

Thus far he has managed to snag dark, grainy and oddly angled shots with 11 of his fellow senators: Sen. Angus King (I-ME), Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV), Sen. John Boozman (R-AR), Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK), Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI.), Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Sen. John Thune (R-SD), Sen. Michael Enzi (R-WY), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Sen. Christopher Murphy (D-CT).

While the venture may seem a little less than senatorial, it fits with Booker’s rise to prominence through the use of social media. He has more Twitter followers (1.5 million) than any member of Congress save John McCain, a former presidential candidate. Booker’s Instagram account is updated on a near daily basis, sometimes even multiple snapshots a day tracking his attendance at Fourth of July parades, local television interviews and the Lincoln tunnel.

The strangest thing about all of this might be how eerily consistent Booker’s facial expression is in all of the shots.

Here is Booker with John Thune (complete with the #DudeAreYouSeriouslyLiftingThatMuchWeight hashtag):

Do you suppose the Senator would sign my yearbook?
