The drone never stood a chance against this Montana GOP congressional hopeful.
Matt Rosendale, a Republican running to fill Montana’s lone House seat, released a new campaign ad Monday that features the current state senator taking aim at a certain government drone hovering overhead. Titled “Rifle Shot,” the ad features the congressional hopeful from a bird’s-eye-view.
“I’m Matt Rosendale, and this is how I’d look from a government drone,” the Republican says, holding a gun. “And this is what I think about it.”
Rosendale then cocks his rifle, aims it to the sky, and lets it rip.
“Signal lost,” the display on the drone reads.
+1,000 for Rosendale.
The congressional hopeful joins a crowded field of Republicans vying to fill Montana’s at-large seat. It’s likely the winner of the Republican primary will easily beat the Democratic nominee in November to take Rep. Steve Daines’ (R) spot.
While Rosendale seems to be the first candidate to shoot a drone straight out of the sky, others have made it cool to aim their guns at things voters hate. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) took aim — literally — at cap-and-trade legislation in 2010. And Alabama congressional hopeful Will Brooke (R) put the Affordable Care Act in his sights and took shots at it with three different guns last month.
