The ever-humorous vice-president arrived at his “Late Night with Seth Meyers” appearance bearing gifts, presenting the host and fellow guest Amy Poehler with presents that doubled as jokes.
He gave Meyers a gag gift of a conductor’s hat and a train whistle — “This is the best,” Meyers responded — and naturally, Biden brought his own whistle. And played it.
“Now I was gonna give you mine” — toot toot — “but, uh, I’m keeping this one.”
He also gifted fellow guest Amy Poehler with an autographed picture of himself that bore a typically priceless comment.
“Amy — Where have you been, you don’t call me anymore,” Poehler read aloud as the VP handed her the present.
“That means you gotta call me,” he responded.
“Thank you so much. I love you, Joe.”
Biden and Poehler have an acting history — he made a cameo on a 2012 episode of “Parks and Recreation,” fulfilling protagonist Leslie Knope’s (Poehler) wish of meeting her unabashed political crush.
The moments were caught on camera in a preview of “West Wing Week,” the White House’s web series about the goings on at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
