Denzel Washington has some mega-inspiring words all young people should heed

Denzel Washington is as quotable giving a speech in his own character as he is in the movies.

Case in point is this address to a group of young actors, highlighted by Christian Post, in which he emphasizes goals, gratitude and God in the pursuit of one’s dreams.

“Dreams without goals remain dreams, just dreams, and ultimately fuel disappointment. … Goals on the road to achievement cannot be achieved without discipline and consistency,” he said emphatically. “I pray that you all put your shoes way under the bed at night, so you gotta get on your knees in the morning to find them, right? And while you’re down there, thank God for grace, and mercy, and understanding.”

Washington also reminded the crowd about the fleeting nature of worldly possessions, invoking the old saying, “You’ll never see a U-Haul behind a hearse.”

Actor Tyrese Gibson posted the video to his Facebook page Sunday, which is where it picked up steam.
