In light of the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal, President Obama made a stunning admission on Friday, stating that guns used in violent crimes in Mexico often come from the U.S.
“Most of the guns used to commit violence here in Mexico come from the United States,” the President said.
Obama spoke in front of a crowd at the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City, during a public relations trip that could be very costly for U.S. taxpayers.
But the President wasn’t actually talking about Fast and Furious, but instead pushing his gun control agenda — conveniently ignoring that the ill-conceived gun-walking debacle is a huge cause of guns making it into the wrong hands in Mexico.
Obama told the crowd that he would, as President, “always” protect the right for Americans to bear arms, as provided by the Constitution.
“But at the same time, as I’ve said in the United States, I will continue to do everything in my power to pass commonsense reforms that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous people,” he added. “That can save lives here in Mexico and back home in the United States. It’s the right thing to do.”
Maybe he should pass some commonsense reforms to keep guns out of the hands of Attorney General Eric Holder and his co-workers, too.
