While the late-night comedians continue to roast both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump (mostly), the animated show, South Park, continues to deliver on its analysis of the 2016 presidential race in this cycle’s edition of “the Giant Douche vs. the Turd Sandwich”.
The Douche-Sandwich race is a bit that creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker used back during the 2004 presidential election when the incumbent President George W. Bush squared off against then-Massachusetts Senator John Kerry. That election was notable in how unlikable the two candidates were that it felt like voting between a giant douche and a turd sandwich, which were even anthropomorphized during the episode, “Douche and Turd”.
However, this time around, the South Park character, Mr. Garrison, represents what would be Donald Trump as the Giant Douche, who campaigns on the platform of “f***ing all the immigrants to death”. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton, as herself, represents the Turd Sandwich.
Through the first few episodes of South Park’s 20th season on Comedy Central, Mr. Garrison/Trump along with his running mate, Caitlyn Jenner, begins to panic that he could actually win the election, and has no idea what he would do if he was president.
This mentality manifested into a confession during Wednesday night’s episode, titled “The Damned”, where Garrison admitted during the first presidential debate that he doesn’t know what he’s doing and has no idea how he got this far. He pleaded with those watching that Hillary Clinton would make a much better president because she has much more experience.
“Please, if you care at all about the future of our country, vote for her,” Garrison said, gesturing towards Clinton.
Clinton, on the advice of her aides, retorted, “My opponent is a liar and cannot be trusted.”
Seeing Clinton fumble on this golden opportunity, one of her aides says in disbelief, “Oh my God, she is such a turd sandwich.”
