Cecily Strong worried to follow ‘amazingly funny’ Obama at WH Correspondents’ dinner

President Obama will get a laugh out of this.

Cecily Strong, the “Saturday Night Live” comedienne who will host this weekend’s White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, admitted to Variety in an interview that it will be “tough” for her comedy act to follow that of the “amazingly funny” president.

“He’s known as an amazingly funny guy,” Strong elaborated. “He’s maybe our funniest president. You know, his timing is great. He had that moment at the State of the Union where he said [in a comeback to GOP detractors], ‘Well I should know because I won two of them.'”

“I’ve never said anything that cool on the spot,” she continued. “That’s one of the things you think of after like, ‘Oh, I should have said that.’ And so, it’s tough to follow that guy.'”

Obama might be criticized for his presidential actions, but he certainly has showcased his comedic ability during his time in the White House.

Most recently, Obama appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to read mean tweets about himself.

The Correspondents’ dinner will take place in Washington this Saturday, April 25, and will be telecast live on C-SPAN and cable news channels. Celebrity guests at the dinner will include television stars from “Modern Family,” “Black-ish” and “House of Cards” as well as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.
