“Uncensored Patriot”: Facebook for conservatives?

A new social media platform is set to launch this month for “traditional” Americans, “who are tired of overly sensitive, politically correct individuals,” and “who want to have an honest, factual conversation without censorship.”

Likely a response to reports in May that accused Facebook employees of censoring conservative content, the new platform, called Uncensored Patriot, will feature news and trending stories from media outlets like the Drudge Report, Info Wars, AMTV, Breitbart, and Newsmax, instead of mainstream media outlets.

“Due to the fact the other social media platforms are censoring patriotic people, businesses and organizations, Uncensored Patriot (UP) has been created to support and promote and unite patriotic people under one umbrella,” said a press release about the launch.

Kent Lewiss, CEO of Uncensored Freedom Inc., said his goal is to have 4 percent of Americans register before the 2016 election.

He said the main goal of Uncensored Patriot is not to influence politics, but to discourage political correctness.

“The vast majority of informed people are tired of being told what we can say and cannot say,” he said. “People are done with being called racist for pointing out factual information; with that said, the founders of UP believe in being respectful and kind to all.”
