New American Crossroads Ad: Obama Is “Out Of Touch, Out Of Ideas”

American Crossroads released a video ad today called “Replay” that exposes Obama’s ill attempts at cleaning up the mess made by his remarks about small business owners. The video compares the Presidential campaign to a football game, saying that Barack Obama dropped “the ball on his own one-yard line” when he said, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

But, as the voiceover in the video states, “team Obama contests the call.” A clip of Obama flashes on screen and he describes the Romney ads as “splicing and dicing” his words. Obama then claims the ads took “[his] words about small businesses out of context.” He directs his audience to “watch the tape” to hear what he was really trying to say.

The voiceover says enthusiastically, “you heard the man, let’s go to the tape” and an “instant replay” of Obama appears on screen. Just as before, he says, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” The voiceover concludes, “Nobody else made that happen” before the same clip of Obama repeats in slow motion.

At the end of the video, the voiceover declares, “Sorry, Mr. President. The tape is pretty clear. You’re just out of touch, out of ideas, and you’re out of there.”

The tape says it all. Though President Obama will try to account for his mistake, the American Crossroads ad “Replay” points out his obvious fumble.
