Five Classics For College Kids From the Conservative Canon

Contrary to popular opinion, conservatives aren’t stupid. In fact, some of the greatest political theorists in history were conservative. However, modern conservatives are not usually well read on these topics. There are already plenty of “conservative canons,” (sic) as they are called. These usually include the big names like William F. Buckley’sGod and Man at Yale or F.A. Hayek’s The Road to Serfdom to Allan Bloom’s The Closing of the American Mind. Although everyone must read the Canon, there are several other books that conservatives should read that would give them a fantastic base from which to attack liberalism and make them as erudite as Buckley himself. These books are not usually listed, or read, by conservatives, but they offer brilliant insight many college conservatives could use in and outside of class.
