Democrat incapable of restraint says Eric Cantor triggers his ‘gaydar,’ calls southern men ‘effeminate’

Yesterday, Brian Schweitzer was merely a former Democratic governor of Montana. Today, he’s the politician who called Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) a streetwalker-turned-nun and said Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) seems gay, at least according to his “gaydar.”

In an in-depth interview with Marin Cogan of National Journal, Schweitzer spoke specifically about Feinstein’s accusation that the CIA spied on congressional staffers looking into an interrogation program under the Bush administration.

“She was the woman who was standing under the streetlight with her dress pulled all the way up over her knees,” Schweitzer said of the Senate Intelligence Committee chairwoman,”and now she says, ‘I’m a nun,’ when it comes to this spying I mean, maybe that’s the wrong metaphor — but she was all in!” Yes, that was probably the wrong metaphor.

He also discussed his reaction to Eric Cantor’s surprising loss in the Republican primary, which led him into an examination of homosexuality. He said of the Virginia race, “Don’t hold this against me, but I’m going to blurt it out. How do I say this … men in the South, they are a little effeminate.” Starting a sentence with “don’t hold this against me” is never a good sign.

Schweitzer expanded, “They just have effeminate mannerisms. If you were just a regular person, you turned on the TV, and you saw Eric Cantor talking, I would say — and I’m fine with gay people, that’s all right — but my gaydar is 60-70 percent. But he’s not, I think, so I don’t know. Again, I couldn’t care less. I’m accepting.” His gaydar might be a little weak, but his foot-in-mouth disease is as powerful as ever.

“I think I could change the world, and I think I could change it in a way that other people out there aren’t willing to do,” Schweitzer said, hinting at his interest in the presidency. “There are some tough things that need to be done.” Thanks to his gaydar, he can probably kiss any Oval Office dreams goodbye.
