NRA continues attacking Obama for being an elitist

The National Rifle Association is pushing hard on the idea that President Obama is a Washington elite.

The organization’s latest ad portrays Bill Clinton and President Obama as out-of-touch politicians who don’t understand ‘real America.’ It stresses the foundational American belief that power comes from the people — a well-armed people — instead of the government.

The video juxtaposes urban scenes with more rural images, such as a pair of hunters and their dogs in a field. The hard-hitting narrative does a solid job at pitting high-profile Democrats against average, law-abiding Americans.

The ad goes on to highlight the relationship between citizens and their elected officials. “They don’t make us free,” the narrator explains. “We’re free already. And as long as we have the Second Amendment, we always will be. We are America, and our politicians are only as powerful as we, the people, allow them to be.”

Since the Sandy Hook shooting, the NRA has been heavily involved in the ongoing, national debate surrounding gun rights. The organization has outraged the Left — and the White House specifically — with some of its advertising tactics, repeatedly portraying Obama and his buddies as “elitist.”
