The reaction by liberals to Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord has been pessimistic, to say the least. They have claimed nothing short of stating that life on Earth is about to end because the President pulled out of the international plan.
“Today our planet suffered,” said Leonardo DiCaprio. “What a huge step backward,” Ben Stiller tweeted. And if anyone was wondering, singer/songwriter Michelle Branch said it was “heartbreaking.”
These overreactions are understandable given that these people are idiots from Hollywood who hypocritically say they love mother nature and then fly around in a private jet or gas guzzling SUV.
What’s more disingenuous and disturbing is when educated Harvard professors feel the need to lie about Paris Climate Agreement and rewrite history to make it fit with their political philosophy.
Joyce Chaplin, the Chair of American Studies at Harvard University, brazenly lied on Twitter that America owes it’s founding to an agreement like the Climate Accord.
The USA, created by int’l community in Treaty of Paris in 1783, betrays int’l community by withdrawing from #parisclimateagreement today

That is a warped version of history not tethered to the truth. The Treaty of Paris was signed by Great Britain and the newly formed United States and her allies during the American Revolution, being France, Spain, and the Netherlands, to relinquish the UK claims on their colony and settle the terms of their surrender.
Sen. Ted Cruz slammed the professor and the two exchanged blows on Twitter.
Just sad. Tenured chair at Harvard, doesn’t seem to know how USA was created. Not a treaty. Declaration Revolutionary War Constitution=USA. https://t.co/tQALvjdkTs

Sad. US Senator, Harvard Law degree. Doesn’t know that national statehood requires international recognition. https://t.co/gcxtJifWCl

Chaplin’s comment over international recognition are over exaggerated. In 1783, France, Spain, and the Netherlands represented a majority of the world with their overseas colonies. They didn’t need the UK to recognize America, they needed a formal surrender.
By the logic Chaplin presented, Israel’s legitimacy would be called into question given that 32 countries refuse to acknowledge its statehood.
American Independence had nothing to do with the Paris Climate Accord. That argument is a joke just like the state of higher education.
