Abercrombie and Fitch has been pushing a lot of buttons lately. Last month, an online campaign was created to protest the company’s “cool-kid” policies and refusal to produce plus-size clothing. And this month, the company is feeling the heat again — from infuriated Taylor Swift Fans.
The object of the their infuriation? A T-shirt released by the company donning the slogan “#more boyfriends than T.S.”
T-Swift fans, also know as “Swifties,” fought back against the company’s retailing of the T-shirt and complained that it was insulting to both Taylor Swift and her adoring fans.
The Swifties took to the interwebs, creating an online petition on change.org calling on the company to stop the sale of the shirt. One dedicated fan even made a Youtube video encouraging other Taylor Swift fans to call the company and complain.
But apparently other Swifties had already beaten her to it — when the call went through a voice message came on stating, “Thank you for calling Abercrombie & Fitch Public Relations. If you are calling regarding the Taylor Swift T-shirt, please note this is no longer available.”
Nevertheless, the fan went on to berate the company stating that the T-shirt was “the most childish thing I have ever seen in my entire life” and that she would never shop at the store again.
And it looks like the Swifties got their way because on Thursday the company sent a tweet that said, “Hey #swifties we no longer sell the tshirt. We <3 Taylor’s music and think she’s awesome!”
