Thanks to Hillary Clinton, Stephen Colbert learned that African-Americans commonly carry around hot sauce, he admitted on Monday’s The Late Show.
Hillary recently appeared The Breakfast Club radio show, where she answered she always carries hot sauce with her. When an interviewer said people would say she was pandering to black people, she asked “okay, is it working?”
“I can put to rest once and for all whether or not Hillary was just making all that up, to pander to black people,” Colbert said as he grabbed what he claimed was Hillary’s purse. Initially he told the audience not to worry about how he acquired the purse, but admitted that he “stole” it.
The purse did contain hot sauce. What really pandered to African Americans was a picture of her husband, “which might be why she carries around a baseball bat,” Colbert suggested. There was a bowl of queso for the Hispanic voters and a Bernie Sanders bumper sticker for the “18-34 year old white male college graduate.”
She also had two options for Jewish voters, a matzah and horseradish sandwich for those observing Passover, and a BLT for “the less religious Jewish voters.”
As he was putting the purse away, Colbert remembered to take out the baby Hillary always carries around for the voting moms.
