Senate candidate learns she lost in a pretty unexpected way

Losing is sad. But learning that you lost on national television, that’s both sad and awkward.

Such was the case for South Dakota Senate candidate Annette Bosworth, who lost to the state’s former Governor Mike Rounds in yesterday’s primary. She didn’t know her fate until she was on “The Kelly File” on FOX News Tuesday night.

Before asking any questions, host Megyn Kelly mentioned the Associated Press’ report of Rounds’ victory.

“That’s news to me. I did not know that,” confessed Bosworth.

A puzzled Kelly responded, “Really?”

Trying to wade through the awkwardness, Kelly said, “I’m sorry to break the news to you.”

Whoops.
